Review: The EFRA OR8 EC 2016 in Spain!

19.07.2016
LRP makes the podium again. Neil Cragg is third with the LRP ZZ.21C Ceramic Long Stroke engine, Screamer-93 pipe and Energy Power Fuel. Champion is Elliot Boots with reliable and fast Sanwa transmitter and servo technology.

Redovan in southeast Spain was an extremely successful place for the LRP team. On a really large and challenging track with scorching hot temperatures, the team with Neil Cragg made it onto the podium. The British driver was driving with the brand new LRP ZZ.21C Ceramic Long Stroke. In combination with the LRP Screamer-93 exhaust system, the engine developed an incredible performance that was also harvested at the EC by Davide Ongaro. The young Italian driver achieved an outstanding sixth place.

But the big victor of the Euros was undeniably Elliott Boots. He defended his title against extremely strong competition. Assisting him was the high-tech equipment from Sanwa. While the leading drivers of the final (Ronnefalk and Battle) had to quit already 10min before the end due to failing gas servos, Elliott was smoothly able to finish the 45min long final. The Sanwa SRG-BZX Type R servo was working strong, reliable and fast even in these hot temperatures and sandy environment. The Sanwa Exzes-ZZ, the brand new stick transmitter with M12S technology, did pass on Elliott’s steering and gas commands lighting fast.

This time, the team drivers weren’t only supported by our large LRP crew – Jürgen and the guys from LRP Spain were also on site besides Andy. The „who is who“ of the RC scene was there in the LRP tents. Cragg Drescher and Richard Saxton did represent Team Associated. JConcepts had sent John Piont. OS Engines had tasked the one and only Junichi Shimazaki to find the perfect setup for the LRP ZZ.21C Ceramic Long Stroke engine. AKA’s Marc Parvadis came with his own tent to Spain.

During the practice heats, the LRP support team headed by Andy did a lot of experimenting with the setup, finding the perfect setup for the finals and also making it available to all drivers with a detailed display that received lots of positive feedback from the drivers. The engines ran absolutely smooth, not failing once, making our team driver’s extremely happy. The incredible amount of testing had paid off – LRP reached the podium and a sixth place finish at the EFRA OR8 EC.
