LRP Wins Belgian Nats Round 2!
The 2 round of the Belgian Nats was a great success for LRP and the all new SXX TC spec speedcontrol!
At the weekend of 2nd-3rd of May the 2 round of the Belgian national series was hosted by the MRCZ club. As the summer and outdoor season got underway in early April for round 1, all drivers had a already gotten the taste for asphalt racing again. The track was very technical and put great demand on both the drivers and their equipment.
As qualifying got underway in the beginning of the day, the rain came down. Q1 had to be run on a semi wet and dry circuit, but luckily the rain didn´t stay for long. As Q2 started it was sunny sky that stayed for the entire race day and racing could continue as normal.
In the highly competitive modified class it was LRP driver Benoit Thomaes running the new SXX TC spec speedcontrol in its debut race on Belgian race track that dominated qualifying and could take TQ clear 4 seconds in front of Round 1 winner of the series Oliver Buyltink in 2nd place and Nick Jossen in 3rd.
In the finals, Benoit Thomaes continued where he left off in qualifying and controlled the finals to take the modified class win in front of Oliver Buyltink and Nick Joosen.
